A BRONX KID COMES HOME TO THE COMFORT OF SADNESS

author:
DANIEL LISS – duration: 03:51

We are in love with Daniel Liss. It’s that simple. For two years or so we have been following his footsteps. While funny enough he never really shows you himself, that is, his portret. At the same time he is telling a personal story where he shows you a lot but you have to have patience and use your brain. Just watch this video and be seriously mesmerized. It’s about life, poetry, music, visual enlightenment and more. Here are some comments on this work from admirers:

“beautiful. penetrating because of its lucidness. a moment settling into its reason. thanks for making videos that can be felt again & again.”

“wonderful. you’re allowing us to get inside your mind and your path of comprehension. to successfully express an artist’s mind is the most challenging and beautiful thing and you’ve certainly done so.”

“Oh man, I wish I could have you break down all of your films this way, like a director’s commentary version. I always feel like I get something out of them but wonder how much I miss. Now I’m pretty sure it’s much more than I thought. Awesome piece.”

We couldn’t agree more and strongly advise you to visit his site and subscribe to his feed (links below).

PART 1 OF THE INS AND OUTS OF VIDEO BLOGGING

author: ZE FRANK – duration: 02:57

Now much has been said already about Ze Frank, but for those of you who haven’t heard of his genius: He was elected as the Favorite Male Vlogger at the first Vloggies Award Ceremony (yes that’s right – check the SITE and Ze’s ACCEPTANCE SPEECH). Furthermore, his site was regarded by Time Magazine as one of the 50 coolest websites on the planet (click HERE) and as no. 2 in their 2006 TOP 25 LIST OF PODCASTS, so who are we to discuss that?

Now what makes Ze so freaking cool? As the Guardian/Observer writes HERE:

“The Show, Frank’s three-minute vlog, which he shoots every weekday at his Brooklyn apartment, is, at first glance, a bewildering, scattergun affair involving repeated use of the words ‘sports racer’. Closer investigation reveals a surface layer of fratboy humour, complete with cheap, scatological gags and insider terminology, and a deeper layer of incisive political and social satire”.

We just love his work: It’s funny, smart and very daily indeed. And the proof is in the eating, because that’s what 200.000 people do every week. Not only by subscribing to his work but also by collaborating on crazy communal like PROJECTS. Since he started his daily Vlog (or ‘vidcast’ he likes to call it) on March 17, 2006 and has always said he would only do it for a year we better hurry to revlog some of his work. Therefore we take-off with this classic, posted in October last year.
